The Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series brings South Africa’s streets to life through five iconic 10km races in Gqeberha, Cape Town, Durban, Tshwane and Johannesburg. Since 2015, the series has brought together communities, elite athletes and social runners.

The 2026 Trolley Dash
The Absa RUN YOUR CITY Trolley Dash is one of the headline competition experiences linked to the 2026 series. Across every race city, selected winners will enter a PUMA store and complete a timed trolley dash to collect up to R10 000 worth of running gear. The competition celebrates movement, participation and the excitement surrounding race season.

Take It To The Streets
The Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K once again brought runners to the streets of the Friendly City for a race experience packed with energy, community spirit and unforgettable moments.
Runners moved through a route lined with local support, entertainment points and some of Gqeberha’s most recognisable landmarks. Known for its fast course and easy-going atmosphere, the city delivered a race day that felt welcoming from start to finish.
Some runners arrived chasing a new personal best, and others went to tick off another city on the series calendar. Gqeberha showed up in full voice.
The Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K continues to hold its place as one of the standout races on the South African running calendar, bringing together runners and supporters in a city that knows how to make people feel at home.
Absa Run Your City Cape Town 10k 2026 Cancelled
The 2026 Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K was cancelled following severe weather warnings issued for Cape Town and the Western Cape ahead of race day on Sunday, 10 May 2026.
The decision was made in consultation with the City of Cape Town, Disaster Risk Management, local authorities and appointed safety officials after forecasts confirmed disruptive rainfall, strong winds and potentially hazardous conditions across the city.

The decision to cancel was not an easy one, but we were pleased to offer participants the choice between a full refund or complimentary entry to a 2027 Absa RUN YOUR CITY race.”

Participant refund
Registered Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K participants received the following options:
- Complimentary 2027 entry: Participants could collect their official race pack and receive a complimentary entry to a 2027 Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series race of their choice.
- Full refund: Participants who preferred not to defer their race entry could choose to receive a full refund of their 2026 entry fee.

All registered runners received communication via WhatsApp and email with details on:

- How to select their preferred option
- Important event updates and next steps
Participants were encouraged to follow the instructions shared through official event communication channels.

The Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K turns the Jacaranda City into a moving celebration as thousands of runners take to the streets for a day filled with music, support and city-wide energy.
Known for its wide roads, fast route and relaxed race-day atmosphere, Tshwane gives runners space to settle into their stride while soaking up entertainment points and landmark views along the course.
